Nazlı Koca (b. Turkey, 1990) is the author of The Applicant (Grove Press, 2023), which won the 2024 Colorado Book Award for Best Novel and received international acclaim with reviews in The New York Times, The Telegraph, El País, and K24.

Her short stories, essays, poetry, and artwork appear in ZYZZYVA, Second Factory, The Threepenny Review, and elsewhere. She has read and discussed her work at numerous venues, including Asia Art Archive in New York, the Miami Book Fair, and the Winter Institute. 

Nazlı holds an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Notre Dame and a Ph.D. in English and Literary Arts from the University of Denver. She lived and worked in Turkey, Germany, Ireland, and four U.S. states before committing to full-time world travel. She is currently passing through Serbia, writing in temporary homes and on the road.
